Kim,
Tyler and Mahnke named to All Sea-View League
Joseph
Kim, Kellen Tyler and Andrew Mahnke were all named to the All Sea
View Golf Team for 2003. Joseph graduates this year after a great
high school golf career. Kellen and Andrew are only sophomores,
helping provide a strong foundation for next year, along with
eight other returning players.

Beats Laguna Hills

Hills, CA --
April 30, 2003 -- The Boys Varsity
Golf team narrowly defeated Laguna Hills, 181-186. Both
teams shot extremely well. Combined with ANHS's win over Irvine,
the team is now 14-2 on the season and 7-2 in the
conference. Their last regular season match is May 1st.
Joseph
Kim fired a 3-under 33 to lead the Wolverines. Kellen Tyler
had a 35, including an eagle on the par four 7th hole at Laguna
Woods. Kellen drove the green (310 yards) and one-putted!

Varsity
and JV both Win Matches
The
Boys Varsity Golf Team beat Newport Harbor 196-212 on the El
Niguel course April 10th. Joseph Kim led the Wolverines
with a par 36. The Boys JV Golf team won two matches,
defeating Newport Harbor 403-419, and narrowly defeating
Foothill, 208-210.
Hole
in One!
Congratulations
to Tyler Heinz, of the ANHS JV team, who shot a hole in one on
the second hole on the Ridge Course at Aliso Viejo Golf
Club! The shot carried 171 yards.
Varsity
Wins; Ranked No. 5 in County
Irvine, CA --
April 1, 2003 -- Now ranked number 5
in Orange County, the ANHS Varsity golf team added another
conference win to its record by defeating Irvine 198-215.
Low scores for the Wolverines were a pair of 39's posted by Kellen
Tyler and Andrew Mehnke on the Oak Creek course.
Boys
Extend League Record to 2-0, 7-0 Overall
Laguna
Niguel, CA -- March 27, 2003 -- The varsity team narrowly
defeated Foothill High School 198-201 Thursday to push their
record to 2-0 in the conference, and 7-0 overall. Joseph Kim shot
par golf (35) for the Wolverines and was low scorer. Sean
Shahi was second-low with a very respectable 38 on the El Niguel
front nine.
Varsity
Record Adjusted due to 18-Hole Matches
The
boys varsity record has been adjusted to reflect 18-hole matches
versus Laguna Beach and San Clemente. Thus, instead of being
3-1, the record is 2-0 against those two, non-conference teams.
Varsity
and JV Open Sea View League with Wins!
Santa
Ana, CA -- March
25, 2003 -- ANHS boys varsity opened the Sea View League
schedule with a solid 188-198 win over Newport Harbor at the Santa
Ana Country Club. Joseph Kim was medalist with a one-under
par 35. Kellen Tyler and Sean Shahi each contributed with 37's.
The
Junior Varsity also got off on the right foot, by defeating
Newport Harbor on the very difficult Creek course at Aliso Viejo
Golf Club. The score was 227-234.
Varsity
and Junior Varsity Continue Winning Ways
Both
the Varsity and Junior Varsity recently extended their winning
streaks. The Varsity team completed an 18-hole match versus
San Clemente March 20th at Talega and won 396-408. The JV beat Capo Valley
on their home course 209-218 on March 20th, and then beat Trabuco
Hills at home 216-223 on March 24th to push their record to 4 and
2.

Varsity Posts Best Team Score of Season!
Aliso
Viejo, CA -- March
19, 2003 -- ANHS Boys Varsity Golf team scored
a season-best 179 and defeated Laguna Beach by 18 strokes on the
demanding Ridge course at the
Aliso Viejo Golf Course. (This completed an 18-hole match
from March 13th). Sean Shahi was medallist with a
scintillating 33 , followed closely by Joseph Kim at 34, Kevin
Irvin at 35 and Andrew Mahnke at 36. Shahi, Kim and Irvin
each had two birdies on the day, and Mahnke had 3 birdies.
Junior
Varsity Wins Second Match

Viejo, CA -- March 18, 2003 --
The ANHS Junior Varsity Team defeated Capo Valley High School by a
score of 208-237 to bring their record even at 2-2 on the young
season. Eric Pratt (39), Conor Moore (39) and Ryan Oriza
(40) led the Wolverines.

Varsity Sweeps Double Match!
Laguna
Niguel, CA -- March 18, 2003 -- The Aliso Niguel varsity
golf team won a double header on the El Niguel Golf Course by
besting Corona del Mar 195-215 and Capo Valley High School
195-237. Wolverines Andrew Mahnke and Joseph Kim were co-medalists,
both firing 37's under extremely windy conditions. Andrew birdied
four holes on the front nine at El Niguel. Corona del Mar
was previously ranked
fourth in Orange County.
