A New Season, A New League!

Returning varsity players Nari Song, Angela Lee and Nikki Stewart along with Emily Doyle, Ashley Kim, Mandy Pham and incoming freshman Katie Chou are looking forward to competing in the South Coast League!  Aliso Niguel has left the Sea View League and joins Dana Hills, San Clemente, Tesoro, Mission Viejo, and Capistrano Valley in the South Coast League this year.

CHINO, CA-- October 24 -- Nari Sohn qualified for the CIF finals by shooting 87-82 at the El Prado GC- Butterfield Stage Course. Angela Lee scored 89-82 and is the first alternate. Nari and Angela earned All South Coast League First Team honors while Nikki Stewart shot 87-88 to earn All South Coast League Second Team honors.

SAN CLEMENTE, CA -- Oct 19 -- The regular season ended today with a 235-243 loss to San Clemente. The Wolverines begin individual CIF play next week.

ALISO NIGUEL, CA -- Oct 17 -- The Wolverines defeated Tesoro 209-216. Nikki Stewart earned medalist with a 36 and Mandy Pham improved upon her personal best with a 43.

LAGUNA WOODS, CA -- Oct 16 -- The Wolverines defeated non-league opponent Laguna Hills 239-250. Nari Sohn was medalist with a score of 42.

ALISO NIGUEL, CA -- Oct 12 -- Despite personal bests by Nikki Stewart 38 and Mandy Pham 45 the Wolverines lost another close match to Dana Hills 209-213.

ALISO NIGUEL, CA -- Oct 10 -- The Wolverines lost a tough match to South Coast League leading Mission Viejo 217-224. Nari Sohn was medalist carding a 37.

LAGUNA WOODS, CA -- Oct 9 -- In a non-league match, the Wolverines defeated Laguna Hills 227-248. Angela Lee was medalist with a score of 40.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA -- Oct 5- The Wolverines improved their league to record 4 wins and 2 losses by defeating Capistrano Valley 235-239.

IRVINE, CA -- Oct 4- The Wolverines lost to 8th ranked Woodbridge 227-245.

ALISO VIEJO, CA --- Oct 2 – The Wolverines defeated South Coast League rival San Clemente 210-223. With a score of 36, Angela Lee won medalist honors. Katie Chou (43), Emily Doyle (46), and Ashley Kim (53) each shot personal bests. The Wolverines are now 3-2 in league play.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA --- Sept 26 – The Wolverines put undefeated Dana Hills to the test going down to the wire but losing 234-236.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA --- Sept 25 - Meeting Tesoro for the first time, the Wolverines got back on track with a 239- 242 win! Angela Lee was medalist with a 43. The Wolverines are now 2-1 in league play.

MISSION VIEJO, CA - Sept 21 --- There’s a reason the membership call their course "Mission Impossible". The Wolverines played well for their first time on the course losing 236 to 257. But they are eager to return for a rematch with the course knowledge they gained! Angela Lee carded a 42 to be the medalist.

SANTA ANNA, CA - Sept 20 --- A tough loss that came down to the final match. Newport defeated Aliso 239-246. Angela Lee was medalist with a score of 42.

ALISO VIEJO, CA - Sept 19 --- The Wolverines opened league play with a 207-219 win over Capistrano Valley. Angela Lee earned medalist shooting a low score of 34 and Nari Sohn was just two shots behind with a 36.

ALISO VIEJO, CA - Sept 14 --- The Wolverines came close but lost their rematch with Corona del Mar 216-218. Angela Lee was medalist with a 36. Nikki Stewart and Nari Sohn had 41’s.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA - Sept 6 ---  In their first competition of the 2006 season the Wolverines faced tough non-league opponent Corona del Mar at the Newport Beach Country Club. The Wolverines ended up on the wrong end of a 216-246 score. Nikki Stewart shot 45 to lead ANHS. The Wolverines are looking forward to a rematch next week when they host Corona del Mar at the Aliso Viejo GC.

ALISO VIEJO, CA - Sept 5th - Coach Wayne Westling announced the varsity roster and schedule for the 2006 girl's season. The varsity is ranked as one of the Top 10 teams in Orange County. Our first match is tomorrow versus Corona del Mar at the Newport CC. League play opens on September 19th versus Capistrano Valley at the Aliso Viejo GC. In high school golf, the team score is determined by adding the lowest five scores of a six-person team. A seventh player is used only in the event a player is delayed or falls ill before the match begins (more).

JV News

An All New Team- The JV roster was set on Thursday, September 7. The entire JV squad is made up of new players Sophomore Jennifer Song-Park and Freshmen- Danielle Barnas, Shea Moore,  Julia Su, Morgan Williams and Katrina Wingco

JV South Coast League Individual is October 26!

MISSION VIEJO, CA - OCT 10- The JV squad continues to improve at every match and the girls are learning a lot about high school golf as they prepare themselves to compete at the varsity level.

Casta del Sol, Sept 7 - Tryouts ended and the JV squad was finalized today at Costa del Sol Golf Club.
